Nantucket Sleighride

Nantucket Sleighride Past Hell

In case you weren't aware of it, a nantucket sleighride is what the occupants of a whaleboat call the wild, unpredictable ride they "enjoy" after a whale is harpooned from their boat, and the whale drags them forward, this way and that, sometimes at great speed and often with sudden changes of direction.

In our bhakti cesta (cesta = endeavour) forward motion is always desirable although it can sometimes appear to be backwards, sometimes erratic, and always into uncharted territory, the personal heart.

Trading Your Bhakti for Stability

Let's not go there, despite the fact that your ensuing freedom may well be a totally unstable, wild ride with a drunken Lord Nityananda as your driver.

Forward Motion is a Must

It's futile to work hard at maintaining the past no matter how glorious it may have appeared to you. So, onward we push, into the great unknown, and always at the mercy of that drunken Nityananda. How fortunate we are if we can let go of everything we thought was stable and predictable. Lord Nityananda quite possibly has other plans.

Joy to all beings
